Thoughts from a bookaholic

I don't just love to read, I HAVE to read - I am on a never-ending quest to find books that I connect with on some level. Finding a book with the "sticking power" to be remembered long after its been read is something I so rarely find, that it has become an obsession.
Boundless - Cynthia Hand I gave this three stars because I really liked the first two books in this series...but I was completely disappointed with this one. I hated the ending and I wanted to strangle Clara for most of the book - she comes across as self-absorbed, whiney, immature and indecisive - and extremely annoying!

I'm also still trying to figure out what the point of the whole soul mate/matching pair thing was?? Was the the author trying to create an unexpected twist to make the story somehow unique by dropping the whole soul mate thing? How can you be soul mates if the love is one-sided - and even more irritating, is how can you not be in love with the person who you claim "completes you" or is "the other half of yourself"? It seems like a lot of time and effort went into creating a sense of strong emotions with a powerful connection that went absolutely nowhere. Why? What was the point?
Shadowfever - Karen Marie Moning This was the longest book ever - and I loved every second of it!! I didn't skim - not even once! It was like a meal that I wanted to savor every bite of and I was sad for it to end. I am so glad that this series is continuing, because I am totally addicted to the these characters - all of them - and I can't wait to see more!!
